Edit or change the checkout errors text in Shopify?

In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to edit the notice displayed to your Shopify customers when there are no shipping rates available to them.

If a customer tries to place an order for an item which doesn’t have any rates attached to it, they will see a default error message such as:

_ "There are no shipping methods available for your cart or address"
_ "No shipping rates found for this address"
_ "No rates for cart or destination’ notice at checkout"

If you’d like, you can change the wording of these message, and others.

How to edit the ‘No rates for cart or destination’ notice at checkout in Shopify

From your Shopify dashboard navigate to Online Store on the left.

1- In the ‘Live theme’ section (this is the theme you currently have live for your site) click Actions and choose Edit default theme content.

2- Here you will find the default phrases and notices used throughout your site, and you’re able to change many of them.

3- Search for 'rates’.

4- From the search results choose the section for 'No rates for cart or destination notice' and 'No rates for country notice'

5- Click in the text field and edit the wording as you like.

6- Once you’ve made the change, make sure to click ‘Save’.

Now you customers will see the new notice on checkout.
