# "Couldn't apply shipping rate" - Error in the POS app


When trying to apply a shipping rate through the Shopify POS app, you might get the **"Couldn't apply shipping rate"** error message.

This error occurs because Shopify POS shipping rates are only available with Shopify POS Pro. To use this and other features, you'll need to confirm you're on the right subscription plan.
